There are some people who wish it could be Christmas all year long. What’s not to love? Good food, plenty of eggnog and mulled wine, good cheer, and great company…we could definitely deal with more Christmas in our lives. In one store in Omaha’s Old Market, it’s been Christmas non-stop for more than 30 years.
Tannenbaum, located at 1007 Howard St. in Omaha, is a tiny little shop that would be easy to miss. But the sign with the stylized Christmas tree and the classic lettering over the door let you know you’re about to enter a special world.

Floor to ceiling and wall to wall, the shop is positively stuffed with every type of Christmas decoration and ornament you can imagine…and some you would never, ever think existed.

One of the best parts is that you can visit any time of the year for a little taste of Christmas. They do sell an assortment of items for other holidays, but make no mistake - Tannenbaum is all about the Santas.

The shop somehow manages to be much larger on the inside than it looks from the outside. However, every last inch of the space is full - so full that you may find yourself turning sideways in some places and clutching your coat or bag to make sure you don’t accidentally sweep something fragile to the floor.

But that one little inconvenience is a small price to pay for such a unique experience. If you’re a Christmas enthusiast, this is absolutely the place to be.

Even if you don’t make it here for Christmas – or if, for some reason, you’re not into the most magical time of year (we won’t judge), the shop also carries small, unique souvenir items.
