The Natural State is full of wild, wonderful and whimsical places—and there’s no town in Arkansas that exemplifies that better than Eureka Springs. It’s in the Ozarks, which gives it a boost for nature lovers. It’s small and full of attractions, which means you can enjoy a small town atmosphere and still never run out of things to do. It’s also Arkansas’s quirkiest little town and home to many interesting places to stay. Today I’m offering you another unique place to cozy up. This time, I want to talk about a gas station.

The Texaco Bungalow is located at 77 Mountain Street in Eureka Springs.

If you’re thinking about spending some time in Eureka Springs, you’ve got lots of lodging options to choose from, but I’d like to suggest you spend the night in a gas station.

Not a working gas station, of course. At this old art deco Texaco station, you’ll find beautifully remodeled bungalows where you can stay.

The garage has been transformed into a bungalette and the retail space is now a bungalow. In times past, the bungalette and the bungalow comprised the first full service gas station in Eureka Springs.

The bungalette is slightly smaller than the bungalow next door, but both are surprisingly spacious and offer a cozy atmosphere for your stay.

In fact, the interiors of the cottages are so completely transformed that you’d never know they were once a garage and a retail space.

Part of the appeal of the bungalows is that they’re within walking distance to many of the attractions in Eureka Springs, but the truth is they’re so cozy that you may want spend all your time in the gas station…
