There are plenty of places in Oregon with odd names, like the towns Boring, Drain, and Idiotville (seriously, it’s real – although it’s now a ghost town), but have you ever noticed a street sign and had you look twice? Or wondered to yourself, who in the world came up with this name?! Well, you’re not alone. Here are 7 wacky street signs scattered across Oregon that are weird and totally awesome.
- Haviture Way, Eugene

- NE Flanders, Portland
Flickr/ Christian Bucad “Hi-diddly-ho, neighborino!” Many people believe that this street in Portland was the inspiration for Oregon-native Matt Groening’s character Ned Flanders in The Simpsons. According to oregonlive.com, the city has had problems with graffiti on these street signs, as vandals continually spray paint a “D” after “NE” on the sign.
- Failing St, Portland

- Abbey Road, Carlton/Wine Country
Google Earth I don’t think this is the same Abbey Road you’re thinking of…. But it looks lovely!
- Normal Ave, Ashland
Flickr/ Lynn Friedman No worries, nothing strange going on here…
- Chow Mein Lane, West Linn
Google Earth I would love to live on Chow Mein Lane. Yumm.
- The Corner of Church & State, Salem
