The legendary hike to Angel’s Rest is truly spectacular. Located in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge, this 5-mile trek will lead you past majestic waterfalls and through lush forestry to a stunning lookout point high above the Columbia River.

This enchanting hike begins at the Angel’s Rest Trailhead, just off the Historic Columbia River Highway, less than an hour drive from Portland.

Along the way, you’ll pass a couple lovely waterfalls, including the top of Coopey Falls (pictured below).

The lush foliage also makes this a great hike for viewing the changing fall colors.

As you near the summit, the greenery will begin to thin out and you’ll see the wide open sky above you.

When you’re ready to head back (or the sun begins to set), simply turn around and walk back the way you came.
