When you go to a library, you expect to find peace, quiet, and some interesting books. What you may not expect to find is ghostly activity. A surprising number of libraries are said to be haunted; perhaps the ghosts like the quiet environment, or maybe they like to read when no one else is around. Whatever the reason, the Bellevue Public Library in Sarpy County is said to be haunted by two distinct characters.

But could there be something a little less mundane hiding among the books?

Some visitors have reported seeing two distinct apparitions: an old man who is usually seen hunched over a pile of books, and a little girl with brown hair and round glasses. Neither ghost is said to interact with patrons or be disruptive in any way. They observe the library rules and stay quiet.

Some other visitors report cold spots in the library and the feeling that they are not alone, even when no one else is nearby. While these could very well be explained away by normal causes, there’s always the chance that the old man and little girl are looking over your shoulder as you read.
