There are quite a few places in Georgia that serve up some seriously blue water. Now, before your brain starts drumming up Bora Bora-type blue water, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Georgia doesn’t have tropical blue water. In fact, due to the abundance of red clay throughout the watering holes, waterfalls, and huge bodies of water, you really won’t find any turquoise blue water in Georgia any time soon. Unless you count this hidden gem: This Hidden Beach In Georgia Will Take You A Million Miles Away From It All. But Georgia does have some pretty fantastic spots that have a cool, rich blue color. One that perhaps you can’t find anywhere else in the state. Personally, I’ve seen quite a few waterfalls and watering holes in Georgia, but I think this particular spot takes the cake for the bluest water in the state. Here’s why:

There are over 3,485 acres to explore, spreading out in every direction near Trenton and Cooper Heights.

But there is one particular waterfall within the park that deserves a lot more recognition than it receives…

Cherokee Falls, otherwise known as the first waterfall in Cloudland Canyon State Park.

In order to get to the falls, you’ll need to take the Waterfalls Trail through the park.

You’ll see two waterfalls along this trail. The first is Cherokee Falls, the second is seen below, called Hemlock Falls.

As majestic as Hemlock Falls may be, Cherokee Falls takes the cake for having some of the bluest water in the state of Georgia.

No matter the season, the water takes on this incredible hue of aquamarine that I’ve never seen anywhere else in Georgia.
