Located just about a block from Riverside Park and the Mississippi River in the northwest corner of La Crosse’s downtown district, The Charmant Hotel bills itself as the city’s only independent boutique hotel. It certainly looks like an amazing place to stay when you’re visiting, but we’re focusing on their stellar roof top deck that you can visit whether you’re a guest of the hotel or not.
With 360 degree views, a wood-fired pizza oven, cozy seating and great drinks, you’ll never want to leave the Rooftop Terrace here.
Located in a building from 1898 that used to house a candy factory, this hotel takes their commercial roots to heart, incorporating sweet stuff and classing up the industrial decor. Charmant was actually a line of candy from that original company and is French for “charming,” something they take seriously around here. This is actually the location of the first building ever built in La Crosse - a log cabin. There’s a ton of history and now you get a chance to take part.

As the night starts to cool off, these fire pits are lit to keep the bugs away and the patrons warm. They add a bit of coziness to the atmosphere.

This rooftop is for everyone - it’s laid back and chill and doesn’t take itself too seriously - your pizza sits balanced on a can of tomatoes.
