When you travel through Kansas, there’s quite a few small towns, and not too many are terribly memorable these days. Sometimes they all just blend together. This town, however, is like it’s straight out of a story book, leaving memories of it lasting forever. From the people, to the decorations, to the festivals it holds, a true fairy tale town can be found right here in Kansas.

From far away, the small town of Lindsborg, Kansas doesn’t seem like much. They’ve only got around 3,500 people, but the whole town has a rich Swedish history.

Feeling magical? The ever-colorful Rosberg House is a beautiful “painted lady” victorian that’s currently a Bed & Breakfast in addition to wonderful scenery.

The town is decorated with “Wild Dala” horses, painted in bright colors. They also have a Dala Festival, which is a sight to see if you’re looking for a treat.

The only thing prettier and more magical is the Swedish Festival they hold in odd-numbered years, a time of music, dancing, and food.

But, if you’re just swinging through for the sights, I recommend you try the Swedish Crown for your lunch or dinner needs. Who wouldn’t want to get a picture in a viking helmet to keep forever?
