Washington Oaks State Park in Palm Coast is a real hidden gem and a treasure of the First Coast. Covered in stunning rock sculptures, it features the largest collection of coquina rock outcropping on the Atlantic Ocean.

The wind and water swirl throughout the rock formations, creating incredible sculptures. The corroding coquina makes the sand an unusual orange color, so it’s like walking on golden shores.

This beach is a natural playground that kids will have a blast exploring. At certain times, the waves will crash against the rocks and put on a fantastic show. At other times, the water will fill the gaps and create tidepools with little animals.

The beaches are located across the street from the park’s formal gardens. This is definitely another area to explore when you visit the beach. Both of these scenic spaces together make this one of Florida’s most spectacular parks.

Washington Oaks State Park is located at 6400 N. Oceanshore Blvd, Palm Coast, FL 32137. The park is open every day of the year from 8:00 a.m. until sundown, and admission is $5 per vehicle (please bring exact change).
