The Johnson Mill was first registered as a business in 1835, but was rebuilt in 1867 after being destroyed during the Civil War. More than a century later, an architect named James Lambeth began turning the Johnson Mill into what would become the Inn at the Mill. The Inn at the Mill opened in 1992, and though additions have been made and changes of management have occurred too, the Inn at the Mill maintains its unique charm.

The Inn at the Mill is located at 3906 Johnson Mill Boulevard in Springdale.

The exterior of the Inn at the Mill manages to look historic with a bit of a modern twist, which is a running theme at the inn.

On a rustic beam in the lobby, you’ll find a plaque celebrating the Johnson Mill’s place on the National Register of Historic Places, and surrounding that beam you’ll find clean lines and less-than-rustic marble.

The modern and the historic also come together in the spot where continental breakfast is offered.

Some of the most impressive parts of the Inn at the Mill are the rooms and suites, which are gorgeously decorated and incredibly cozy.

The rooms are unique, too. You’re not going to find the same painting on every wall in this hotel. Instead, you’ll find comfort and class. Like this room with its fantastic wood paneling:
