Ethel M.’s Botanical Garden is a four-acre botanical cactus garden located at the Ethel M. Chocolate Factory in Henderson, just south of Las Vegas. It is the largest botanical cactus garden of its kind in all of Nevada and among the largest in the world. Take a look at this breathtaking and mesmerizing slice of Nevada nature.

The garden features four acres of drought-tolerant ornamental plants, cacti, and other desert-friendly succulents.

The garden boasts more than 350 types of cacti and succulents. Over half are indigenous to the southwest US, while the remainder hail from Australia and South America.

Among the many species here are the giant saguaro cactus and other cacti, ocotillo, prickly pears, clumping hedgehogs, twisted acacia, and desert willows.

The garden relies on a demonstration waste water treatment facility called “The Living Machine” that recycles 100 percent of the factory’s waste water by using algae, bacteria, snails, protozoa, and fish.

The recycled water is used for the gardens, and the waste water facility ponds attract many of the resident birds.
