Many of us love to get lost in an imaginary world through reading, so it only makes sense that there’s a bookstore in Minnesota that helps you do just that. Wild Rumpus in Minneapolis is a whimsical bookstore for children that has been around for 25 years. It is full of fantastic books, hidden nooks and crannies, and furry creatures. It’s so good, in fact, that it was named the 2017 Bookstore of the Year by Publishers Weekly. Check it out:

Wild Rumpus is tucked away in the Linden Hills neighborhood of Minneapolis. You’ll find it at 2720 West 43rd Street.

Perhaps the most exciting features of Wild Rumpus are the critters who roam the aisles. Among the most unusual are the two silkie chickens.

You’ll also more than likely spot a cat or two.

Other unusual creatures make homes in the store, too. These are usually kept in their own cages.
