If you want to let loose your inner child (and beat the heat) this weekend, this massive water gun fight is the place to head. In it’s 7th year, the citywide public water gun fight is set go down this Sunday, July 30 at 2 pm.

The epic battle will take place at Laurelhurst Park in SE Portland.

It is a bring-your-own-watergun occasion, so be sure to come fully loaded and ready to soak your neighbor.

There are few rules, but do know that picnic tables are safe, and be courteous of other park-goers who are not participating.

There are a few filling stations - water fountains and the bathrooms - but it is recommended that you arrive with a full water gun.

With a large following this year, several hundred residents are expected to participate, according to the event organizer’s Facebook Event Page.

With highs expected in the upper 80s this weekend, this fun event will be a great chance to cool off with your neighbors and have a little Portland fun.
