There are plenty of places in Montana that feel downright otherworldly – the Ross Creek Cedars Recreation Area, for one. And while our state parks’ scenery is beautiful and diverse, nothing quite compares to the unique Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park, which happens to be the first state park in Montana.
You don’t even have to go into the cavern itself to experience the unparalleled beauty of this place.

Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park was first discovered by non-Native Americans in 1882.

Stepping into this limestone cavern truly feels like entering another world.

The park is open year-round, although the cavern is only open for tours from May until the end of September.

We can guarantee you won’t see anything like this anywhere else in Montana (and possibly the world).
