Narrowing down all of the amazing hiking spots in South Carolina is clearly a subjective exercise. And there are so very many from which to choose, the task becomes even more difficult. However, if I had to choose which hike in the Palmetto State is more beautiful than all the others, I’d pick Table Rock State Park.

A 3.2 mile journey each way, the hike to the top of Table Rock in South Carolina is not only rewarding, but also offers much eye candy, a.k.a. points of interest, along the way. Take a look at these images from the trail and decide for yourself. This just might be the most beautiful hike in all of South Carolina.

The Table Rock Trail is 6.5 miles out and back and offers a little something for everyone, like cool bridges and…

This time of year the trail is full of color explosions as the trees will begin to change colors soon.

The hike takes you up 2211 feet, with much of the journey carrying you uphill.

But there are some very cool steps that were constructed to give the task some easier footing.

Someone even carved steps into this big rock you have to climb.

But not so fast, the trail has several stream crossings you’ll want to be aware of before you head out on this hike.

But the panoramic views along the way are unmatched in the state of South Carolina.

Leave early in the morning to avoid big crowds, as this is a heavily trafficked trail. Plus leaving early means you’ll have time to enjoy that view for a long as you want!

Table Rock Trail is rated a “hard” trail so if you’re a novice or have other physical issues you might want to work up to this one or skip it altogether.
