A wildflower trail is the perfect way to take in some colorful blooms, get some light exercise and breath some fresh air. The Jane Coates Wildflower Trail on South Bass Island in Put-In-Bay, Ohio is a hidden gem most people don’t know about. When the flowers are in bloom, it’s a downright enchanting experience. Take a look:

This half-mile loop trail features a gorgeous variety of wildflowers and even some migratory songbirds. It’s the perfect place to take a leisurely, peaceful stroll in the afternoon.

It’s a truly magical place when the flowers are in full bloom and the trail is freshly mulched. You’ll feel as if you’re traveling through an enchanted forest. <3

It’s a wildflower lover’s dream come true. You’ll see a variety of flowers along the way that you wouldn’t normally encounter all within the same area.

It’s not unusual to see volunteers maintaining the trail during your visit. Each year, the trail features an Earth Day Work Day at the end of April to get the trail ready for the public for the season.

Be sure to visit in late April to mid-May, when the flowers have arrived and the blooms are vibrant.
