Most people are familiar with Wyoming’s more popular travel destinations. Tourists rave about Jackson, Cody and Cheyenne. While these are all worthwhile towns in their own right, there are other towns in Wyoming that shouldn’t be underestimated. Here is one of those overlooked towns in Wyoming that you need to spend a little time exploring.
Sheridan is located in the north-central part of the state. The community consists of around 17,000 residents.

With its close proximity to the Bighorn Mountains, friendly residents and abundance of activities, Sheridan is the perfect place to spend a little time.

Check in at the Historic Sheridan Inn where “Buffalo Bill” Cody was part owner and auditioned actors for his touring Wild West show on the front porch.

If you’re a history buff, stop by Trail End State Historic Site which is a historic house museum that depicts life from 1913-1933 through the life of John B. Kendrick, a Wyoming rancher and politician.
