It’s the fact that there have been numerous claims of hauntings on the premises, especially in Room 204, where the ghost of Anna Powers lives.

Room 204 is actually the room which used to require the waiver—Anna was said to be that frightening to guests.

17Hunrded90 was reportedly a boarding house before it became an inn and restaurant, and according to local tales, a young woman named Anna died at the inn after suffering a broken heart.

Beyond consolation, Anna threw herself out of the window of Room 204 and died upon impact on the ground below.

But she still haunts the hotel to this day, along with a few other spirits.

Employees have reported pots and pans rattling while nobody else is in the kitchen, or mysterious loud noises coming from empty guests suites.

But in Room 204 in particular, guests have reported being shaken awake by shattering glass, or a shadowy figure looming at the end of their bed.

Some have said that Anna’s behavior, (from scratched arms, to hair-pulling of female guests,) was so frequent that it led the former innkeeper to require a signed waiver before staying.
