The Munch’s Coulee National Hiking Trail will take you on a peaceful journey through the Des Lacs National Wildlife Refuge. This refuge is located next to Kenmare, North Dakota.

This trail goes through grassy prairie fields, abundant with native wildflowers that are stunning during certain times of the year.

It also overlooks the gorgeous Des Lacs Lake and has excellent bird watching opportunities.

The trail is only about a mile long, but after completing it you will feel refreshed and satisfied with what you accomplished.

If you time it right, you can end the trail back at the start where there is a fantastic view of the lake and maybe catch a sunset over the water. It is an experience you need to have yourself in order to really appreciate it and North Dakota.
