Everyone looks for something different when they decide to spend the day outside. Some of us want challenging hikes and rugged cliffs to climb. Others prefer a hot and sandy day at the beach.
However, if you’re looking to escape somewhere that feels ripped from a storybook, this spot is just the thing. You can expect beautiful waterfalls and magical meadows at this Massachusetts state park.

TripAdvisor/A TripAdvisor Member Moore State Park is a 400-acre slice of heaven in the Central Massachusetts. It’s blanketed by lush woodlands and beautiful meadows, while charming brooks and even a waterfall provide a lovely natural soundtrack.
The park actually started life as a grist and saw mill site in 1747. Afterward, it became a private estate filled with gardens of flowering plants. Today, the best of its history has been transformed and used to create a fairytale park.

Flickr/Nate Wilson The beautiful ruins of the stone mill are still standing, waiting to be discovered and explored. There’s a restored sawmill perched over a bubbling waterfall that is absolutely postcard-perfect.
Perhaps most charming of all, the park is filled with vast swathes of flowers like rhododendrons, azaleas and mountain laurel. These blooms flow down the hills of the park and cluster on the edges of waterfalls.
