The doors are created by a San Francisco-turned-Minneapolis street artist named Mows - pronounced “mouse.” He has created over 100 of the doors between the two cities.

The doors may be small, but they sure are welcoming. Each comes with a window and a tiny welcome mat.

They’ve sprung up around Minneapolis, many of them in the downtown and Northeast areas.

All of the doors are in locations you wouldn’t think to look - places like alleys and utility poles.

Most are a cheery red door with black hinges, but Mows has also added some variety, like this St. Patrick’s day themed door.

No matter its design, each door is meant to delight and inspire those who notice them.

After all, Minnesota can get a little dreary in the wintertime. Why not add a little magic to the city?

Mows frequently puts up new doors, so be on the hunt - especially if you spend time in an artsy area, where you’re more likely to spot a door.

And if you find a door, make sure to snap a photo to remember it by. According to the artist, about half of the doors only last a few weeks until they disappear.
