The wildflower season is upon us, and now is a perfect time to get outdoors and experience all the beauty the Beaver State has to offer. Located at the amazing Rowena Crest, the McCall Point Hike is a unique 3.6-mile trail that winds through breathtaking wildflower fields while offering unparalleled views of the vast, magnificent landscape of the Columbia River Gorge and beyond.

Perched on the edge of the Columbia River Gorge near Mosier, Rowena Crest is a stunning area that, during the spring and summer months, is covered in colorful wildflowers.

The lovely McCall Point Trail winds through this glorious landscape. This peaceful 3.6-mile hike will lead you through a stunning wildflower meadow full of jaw-dropping views.

The hike begins at the Rowena Crest Trailhead and winds through the Rowena Plateau along an old wagon road before ascending to the south.

The trail switchbacks through picturesque meadows and past wildflower-strewn slopes. Soon, the snow-capped peaks of Mt Hood and Mt Adams will come into view.

When you’re ready, turn around and head back the way you came.

In late spring and early summer, the area is covered in colorful wildflowers, especailly balsamroot and lupine.

If you’re looking for a shorter trail in the area, a great alternative to the McCall Point Trail is the easy Rowena Plateau Hike, a lovely 1-mile trail that runs through the plateau and offers great views of the river.
