Our wonderful weekend trip begins on Duluth’s scenic Park Point as we explore the tip of Lake Superior. The wonderful beaches and beautiful, cool, crisp water provide a perfect starting point for the journey.

Head north to Sturgeon Lake and spend the day at McCarthy Beach State Park. Here you will find an abundance of campgrounds and outdoor activities to entertain you all day, or even overnight!

We begin our trip south with an experience in one of Minnesota’s iconic small towns, Walker provides families with plenty of entertainment, especially the beautiful lakefront on Leech Lake.

If you’re looking for a great place to have dinner with the whole family, look no further than Ernie’s on Gull Restaurant and Marina. Take the family out on Gull Lake for the day and finish up with some fresh fish from Ernie’s.

As the trek moves east, be sure to take a look at Mine Lake in Cuyuna County State Recreation Area. This former iron mine turned lake provides a different take on Minnesota Lake Life.

Our final destination is on famous Lake Mille Lacs with no shortage of activities for the whole family. Enjoy your stay on one of the several beaches or take a hike through Mille Lacs Kathio State Park!
