Popular cookbook author and chef Ina Garten once said that “Grilled cheese and tomato soup is the ultimate comfort meal.” We agree! There’s definitely nothing more hearty and comforting to the stomach and your soul than delicious gooey melted cheese on toasted bread, served warm and even better, with soup on the side. Many restaurants in Nevada excel on making an awesome grilled cheese, but one definitely stands out!

The Gourmelt started out as a food truck and was so successful that owners Jessie and Haley created a standing restaurant to house their gourmet grilled cheese concept.

There are many different kinds of grilled cheese on the menu with ingredients like fried eggs, bacon, tomatoes, salami, artichoke hearts, apples and ham, just to name a few. Plus many different type of cheeses, although the old fashioned favorite cheddar is definitely an option.

Pictured below is the Jive Turkey, a grilled cheese sandwich made with Brie cheese, turkey, basil, orange-cranberry sauce and sourdough bread.

Another favorite is the Mother Clucker. This mouth watering sandwich has cheddar cheese, grilled chicken, artichoke hearts, red onion, dijon mustard and sourdough bread.

For a grilled cheese with a kick, there’s the Pepper Popper, with cheddar cheese, cream cheese, and jalapenos on sourdough bread. You can add bacon for an extra delicious flavor combination.

All sandwiches come with garlic-Parmesan fries or you can substitute sweet potato fries, and a side of kale salad or homemade tomato soup.
