Last week, we soaked it up in luxury while taking a tour of Missouri’s most beautiful hotel resort. But today, we’re going to pare it down a bit and check out a more simple way of staying the night in this unique type of lodging.
The Kozy Kaboose is one of the more popular accommodations at the St. Louis West KOA Campground.

It has most of the amenities you’ll find in a small cabin or trailer which include a full bathroom, 1 Queen bed, 1 bunk bed set and a fridge.

For colder nights, snuggle up and watch a movie on the flatscreen TV in this fully-heated caboose. WiFi is included as well.

You’ll really feel like you’re out on the railroad when you step outside and see where this caboose once latched on to a much larger train.

At night, enjoy a bonfire and s’mores at your private patio area that features a fire ring and chairs.

The Kozy Kaboose is in an awesome location at the campground, right next to the pool and the gemstone mine.

At the Old Fox Creek Mining Company, you can pan for gemstones, arrowheads, and precious rocks & minerals. Just head into the main store to purchase your panning bag. Once you have your panning bag, you can get to work to find a little treasure to take home.

Unfortunately, there’s only one Kozy Kaboose on the campground. If you can’t reserve it or have extra guests coming, don’t worry, there’s plenty of other accommodations. You can rent a beautiful cabin or space for your tent or RV.
