Wisconsin is beautiful enough from street level. But if you’ve ever had the opportunity to see Wisconsin from the sky, all I can say is: wow. In urban areas, you can see the care that went into engineering the layout. In rural areas, you can see the great expanse of farm country. Here are nine awesome aerial shots of Wisconsin:

  1. Wild Rose State Fish Hatchery

USFWSMidwest/Flickr This is a really cool shot of a fish hatchery. You can see how much work goes into preserving these species. This is a great facility.

  1. Snow Covered Lawrence, WI

Cimexus/Flickr Wisconsin is always beautiful in the winter, but it’s stunning in this aerial shot!

  1. Farmland outside of Milwaukee

Justin H/Flickr Shots like this remind me of Wisconsin’s farming heritage and just how much beautiful land there is out there.

  1. Milwaukee

Jeramey Jannene/Flickr This is a really cool shot of downtown Milwaukee before additional construction.

  1. Madison Band

University of Wisconsin-Madison/Flickr This is a cool shot of the band in the form of a bulldozer circa 1972.

  1. Downtown Madison

Paw Paw/Flickr I really love this black and white photo of downtown Madison. What a cool town.

  1. Lake Petenwell (Strongs Prairie)

WI Department of Natural Resources/Flickr Cool shot of Lake Petenwell, the second largest lake in Wisconsin.

  1. Minocqua

WI Department of Natural Resources/Flickr From this view, you can really tell why this town is called “Island City.”

  1. St. Croix County

Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources/Flickr The Somerset Tire Fire was almost thirty years ago, but this is an absolutely incredible shot of that incident. This fire burned for weeks.

Take any great aerial shots? Maybe from skydiving or from the plane? Be sure to share!
