When I wanted to go sledding in Wisconsin, there was one hill in town and the ride down wasn’t too far. It wasn’t until later that I realized that not all Wisconsin is as flat as where I was living. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I’m sharing some photos of some real Wisconsin hills:
- Maiden Rock Bluff State Nature Area

- Trempealeau Bluff

- Baraboo Range Bluff

- Trenton Bluff Prairie
Joshua Mayer/Flickr Not only is this a wonderful bluff, but it is also one of the best prairies in Wisconsin.
- Pleasant Valley Conservancy

- Battle Bluff Prairie
Joshua Mayer/Flickr With a height of 480 feet, you can see many miles south down the Mississippi River.
- East Bluff, Devil’s Lake
Joshua Mayer/Flickr What’s really unique about this place is the “miniature forest” on top of the hill.
- Limery Ridge Savanna
Joshua Mayer/Flickr This beautiful, undeveloped bluffs are located right in the middle of a major migratory path, making bird watching phenomenal.
- Arena Hill
Cindy/Flickr This hill might not be the largest, but this shot is still gorgeous.
Well, I could definitely do the sledding of my life down these. And end up in the hospital.
