Caves are so enchanting. It’s like they exist in two worlds, above ground and under ground, at once. They’re a little spooky, a little enchanted and a lot fascinating. Usually exploring caves, or spelunking, requires special equipment and training, and descending into the earth’s crust. However, that doesn’t have to be the case, and here in New Hampshire we’ve got a few easy accessible, aboveground caves that are great for exploring. One of the best is Lost River Gorge and Boulder Caves in North Woodstock.
DaveEB310/tripadvisor Lost River is a boulder cave with 11 different caverns to explore. The great thing about Lost River is that a series of boardwalks takes visitors through a 3/4 mile loop past cave entrances. That means that anyone who can walk stairs can enjoy Lost River.
