Let’s face it. Choosing just one place in the Grand Canyon state as heavenly is a difficult task because, quite frankly, the entire state is one gorgeous place. But if we did have to choose just one, we have just the spot in mind.

This is Red Rock State Park.

Red Rock State Park sits just outside of Sedona and is a nature preserve that covers more than 280 acres of some stunning scenery.

Among those includes the winding Oak Creek, which flows through the park and helps bring the area to life with a rich riparian environment.

You’ll find quite a few hiking trails, most approximately 1 mile, that move through the park to show off some incredible landscapes. You can also combine several of the trails to make a much longer one.

In addition to hiking, you can also enjoy the area while picnicking, viewing wildlife along the riparian banks, and some pretty ancient finds, like the petroglyphs above.

The park also regularly hosts events each month dedicated to educating the public about the park’s mission and the environment, as well as guided hikes and nature walks. You’ll find plenty to do here!
