It’s not the highest mountain in Minnesota, and not the most well-known, but Lookout Mountain at Cascade River State Park on the North Shore is one of the prettiest places around.

The peak stands at 1,850 feet, and there are almost 20 higher peaks in Minnesota, even in the surrounding area. Still, this view is just one of the reasons that the mountain is so amazing.

Because it’s located in Cascade River State Park, a hike up this mountain will take you by some of the most amazing waterfalls.

The waterfall views start right after the trailhead, and they continue for most of the hike - keeping even the most impatient of hikers entertained.
