Flying a kite is a fun challenge for the whole family. Soon, you’ll get to fly your own kite with hundreds and hundreds of others while thousands cheer you on. Or, you can be on standby in the cheerleader crowd and just watch all the action go down. The Annual Kite Festival hosted by The City of Aiken is Saturday, May 6, 2017 and you won’t want to miss it.

Thousands showed up for this event last year, held at Citizens Park.

What? Don’t have a kite? No worries, you can BUY one at the festival.

See? Your attendance really is “meant to be!” Bring the kids too. If they get bored there’s a kids play area for them, including a moonwalk and a trackless train. But they won’t stay away for too long. All those kites flying at once really is something to see!

Inspired yet? Aiken’s free kite flying festival will be held at Citizen’s Park III at 1060 Banks Mill Road, Aiken on Saturday, May 6, 2017. Activities for children, such as moonwalk and train rides, are not free. The hours for the event are 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Are you ready to go fly a kite?
