There’s no denying that many beautiful places are scattered throughout the state of Nevada. While some of these beautiful places get the attention they deserve, others are somewhat underrated. One of the most underrated places in Nevada is also considered, by many, to be the most beautiful. “Where exactly is this underrated place?” you ask. This underrated (and most beautiful) place just so happens to be the one and only Lake Tahoe.

Lake Tahoe is where Nevada and California meet. It’s also North America’s largest alpine lake. Formed approximately two million years ago, Lake Tahoe is best known for its crystal clear water and beautiful surrounding mountains. Two of Lake Tahoe’s most popular attractions is Sand Harbor and Bonsai Rock.

Without a doubt, Sand Harbor is Lake Tahoe’s most beautiful beach. Anyone who’s ever visited this area will agree. Two things that make Sand Harbor beautiful is it’s crystal clear water and the amazing scenery surrounding it. Scuba divers and swimmers are drawn to this area, in addition to people seeking relaxation. Sand Harbor is located along State Route 28, near Incline Village.

Located south of Sand Harbor, on the east side of Lake Tahoe, is Bonsai Rock. Bonsai Rock is a unique rock with four tiny trees growing from it. Because the rock inhibits the trees’ growth, the trees appear to be miniature like a Bonsai Tree. Bonsai Rock is a popular attraction among photographers.

From late spring to early fall, water sports are popular recreational activities on Lake Tahoe. Some of these water sports include jet skiing, water skiing, boating, swimming, etc.

And if water sports don’t interest you, lounging on the beach is also a popular activity. It doesn’t get more relaxing than lounging on the shore of beautiful Lake Tahoe.
