Located in central Oregon, the Black Butte Hike is a wonderful hike that will blow you away. The trail will lead you through the woods up to the top of the stunning Black Butte, where you’ll find a historic fire lookout tower and breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding scenery.

This lovely trail begins at the Black Butte Trailhead and winds upwards through a beautiful pine forest to the top of Black Butte.

Though it’s only two miles in each direction, the hike is quite steep. You’ll work up a sweat, but when you get to the summit, you’ll feel like you’re on top of the world.

Take some time to relax and explore the top of Black Butte. All around you, you’ll find expansive views of the central Oregon landscape and distant mountain peaks. On a cloudless day, you’ll be able to see the Three Sisters, Three Fingered Jack, Mt Jefferson, and more.

You’ll also find a picturesque fire lookout tower and cabin. Keep in mind that they are still in use and should be treated as such.
