There’s no doubt the spookiest town in Arizona is Jerome. The former mining town sits in the heart of the Verde Valley and is well-known for its violent history and numerous spooky encounters. Any visit to town will introduce you to some of the tales of former residents who still linger in alleyways and dark corners of the many historic buildings.

One place that is not only rumored to be haunted but also proudly flaunts it is the aptly named Haunted Hamburger. Once a miners’ boarding house and later a private residence, the building is believed to be haunted by several ghosts.

The restaurant’s most famous story stems from its repair phase after the new owners purchased the building. Tools disappeared then reappeared and doors unexpectedly slammed shut without a breeze in the air.

To this day, staff and the occasional guest will report random sightings or strange occurrences that are just a little too weird: items moving, strange sounds, and even the occasional ghostly image in a photo.

So, it’s definitely possible that during a meal here, you might be sharing a seat with a ghost!

If you don’t believe in ghosts, then you’ll at least get a kick out of the unique decor. It’s a little bit creepy with a touch of whimsy, like the bookcase in the ceiling.

Ghosts, however, aren’t the only reason to visit the restaurant. The burgers are juicy, flavorful, and simply scrumptious!

If a burger isn’t your style, you can try one of the many other menu items, including salads, sandwiches, and weekly specials like pasta or chimichangas.
