Maine’s culinary scene continues to get a ton of attention – both locally and nationally. But, we can’t help wondering why we don’t talk more about the smaller spots that have been around for decades. Some of them are truly unique, making them un-replicable by the newer guys. Today we’re telling you about one of our favorites – Crosby’s Drive-In, located in Bucksport, Maine.
Crosby’s Drive-In has been serving up delicious fast food to locals for more than 70 years!
Crosby’s Drive-In / Facebook The iconic Bucksport restaurant was founded in 1938 by Elton ‘Fat’ Crosby and his wife Margaret. Throughout all these years there have been just three different owners. Today it is owned and operated by Tom and Jen Pappas, who inherited Crosby’s from their relatives Tom and Helen Christakos in 1980.
Together each of these families have created a special summer tradition for those living in Bucksport, the surrounding areas and visitors.
Today Crosby’s stands as an example of what good food and good fun should be in the summer.

While no longer a traditional drive-in, the walk-up counters still evoke that old school feeling of a Friday night fast food stop.

Keep those old school vibes strong by stopping in on a Thursday at 4:30pm for their antique car “cruise through” night.
