Everyone loves a good conspiracy theory, and Missourians are no different. These 3 may make you question things you thought you had a definite answer to.

  1. American bandit Jesse James did not die by bullet..

David Erickson/flickr Though Jesse James funeral was documented by a funeral home in St. Joseph, Missouri, many still believe the body in the casket was not his. The story goes that Jesse James was shot by his house guests, Bob and Charley Ford, who had conspired with Missouri Governor Thomas T. Crittenden. Conspiracy theorists believe James actually faked his own death and ran away to Texas where he lived the rest of his long life under the alias James Courtney.

  1. Joplin tornado was man-made…

andavis86/flickr The tornado that left the city of Joplin in ruins and took the lives of 148 people is believed by some to have been man-made. In fact, one YouTuber predicted Joplin would be hit due to anomalies on radar maps created by the government-funded HAARP (High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program).

  1. Pensmore Mansion…

YouTube/Glued Barstool At 72,000 feet and with walls that could protect itself from a 2,000 pound blowout, it’s no wonder residents of Christian County have been raising questions about this private mansion. Is this a castle for the Illuminati or to survive the Armageddon? To make it even stranger, the owner now wants the mansion completely torn down and rebuilt stating that the construction company didn’t build it strong enough. What exactly is this owner trying to protect himself from? See drone footage
here.

Whether you believe these theories or not, they still may raise some questions. What do you think about these stories? Do you know of any other Missouri-related conspiracy theories? Share them in the comments.
