Is it just me or is just about every town in Arizona surrounded by natural beauty? Even in the driest, least populated areas, you can still find bright blue skies, incredible rock formations, and other bits of wonder. However, if we had to choose one tiny town that is surrounded by a stunning Mother Nature, we would have to choose Greer.

Located about one hour east of Show Low, Greer is a tiny town of just 40-something people in Arizona’s White Mountains.

It sits right in the middle of the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest and is a nice, secluded little spot that many Arizonans love to visit year-round for relaxation and recreation.

The town was founded in 1879 as Lee Valley by Mormon settlers but the name was later changed after a request was made by the post office.
