When you want to get away from it all, where do you go? Believe it or not, there was a parish in Louisiana that was identified as one of the most remote places in the entire country. Which one? Terrebonne Parish. The researchers measured remoteness by how far you could travel before crossing a road. In swampy Terrebonne, the measure was 22 miles. Cocodrie, Louisiana, is one of those small little towns on the marshes of Louisiana. Once I got a look at these pictures, I could see why it was named as so remote!
Looking at the map, it’s not difficult to see why this is one of the most remote areas in Louisiana.
