It doesn’t require much effort to find beauty in Arizona. A quick look around most of the state will present you with some stunning scenery that will leave a lasting impression on just about everyone who visits. But if there’s any place that seems to drop more jaws than others, it has to be the Grand Canyon.

Yup, this place.

Moyan Brenn/Flickr We’ve dedicated quite a few previous articles that feature our state treasure but there is always one place that has stood out among all the destinations in the canyon.

That spot would be Havasu Falls.

Jon Roig/Flickr Also frequently referred to as Havasupai Falls, this waterfall is one of many located within the canyon and one of several located along the scenic Havasu Creek. It is the third waterfall you will encounter in the canyon and the one that seems to attract the most visitors every year.

Its bright turquoise waters contrast perfectly with the red travertine walls, making this look like paradise.

Todd Wiggins/Flickr The natural pool that lies beneath the waterfall is one of the main features that lures visitors to the area, where wading or swimming near the falls after a particularly grueling hike from the canyon’s rim is a definite bucket list activity.

Ah, can you imagine swimming here after a long hike, feeling the mist and listening to the roaring waters? That sounds absolutely perfect!

Be sure to plan and prepare for your trip well in advance!

Jon Roig/Flickr There are a lot of people who add this destination to their bucket list so be sure to do some planning to make sure you have the proper permits, supplies, and endurance to do this hike. You can start by reading some of the information provided by the National Park Service, which can be found at this link. Happy planning!
