Benjamin Franklin once wrote, “wine makes daily living easier, less hurried, with fewer tensions and more tolerance.” For me, heading out into the quiet, slow-paced rural areas always seems to have the same effect. The mind quiets, the body relaxes, and it’s a chance to slow down from an otherwise fast-paced lifestyle. If you were to combine both wine and Arizona’s rural areas, you might get something like this incredible winery.
Sonoita, less than one hour south of Tucson, is known as one of Arizona’s premiere wine regions. The high elevations combined with cool temperatures and beautiful scenery makes this an ideal place to live, visit, and do agricultural business.

Sitting by itself along Highway 82 is a relatively new winery, Rune. There’s not much around so it has a nice secluded environment.
