Now that the temperatures in Utah are in the 90s, it’s time to head for the hills to cool off a little. This hike takes you up above Ogden and ends with a gorgeous waterfall that will cool you off even more.

Waterfall Canyon Trail is 2.5 miles roundtrip. You’ll start at the 29th Street Trailhead.

The trail starts on a portion of the Bonneville Shoreline Trail, and it’s wide and fairly easy.

You’ll soon arrive at the gate to The Guest Ranch. The rest of this trail is on private property, and the owner has made it available to everyone. Make sure to be respectful and pack out everything you pack in so that we can keep this trail open to the public.

When you get to Waterfall Canyon, you’ll cross a little footbridge - the first of two that crosses the stream.

Once you’re in the canyon, the trail follows along the stream most of the way. The trail does have some steep spots, but most hikers (even kids) will easily navigate this trail.

Depending on the time of year, this 200-foot-high waterfall can be really impressive.

Resist the urge to climb the rocks near the waterfall - many people have fallen here, sustaining serious injuries. A few have died in the past several years. Enjoy your view from the base of the waterfall.
