If you’ve been to Weirs Beach (and who in New Hampshire hasn’t?) you surely remember the Weirs Drive-In Theater. Sadly, it’s going the way of most of the other drive-ins in the state – its last day in operation will be Labor Day. That means you have less than a week to get down there, so hurry!

Since 1949, the Weirs Drive-In has operated right across from the classic Weirs Beach neon sign. It’s been under its current ownership since the 70s.

For many of us, trips to the Weirs Drive-In were a treasured part of childhood.

The snack bar was magical for kids - the perfect place to load up on candy and popcorn to bring back to the car.

The property has been sold to a developer who is planning to build condos and an event space. We’ll all be so sad to never see this screen lit up with a film again, but Weirs Drive-In will live on in our memories.
