One of my favorite things about Colorado is that there is always something new to discover–and what these friends discovered just outside the tiny Plains town of Deer Trail proves just that! As the proud “Home of the World’s First Rodeo,” Deer Trail (with a population of only 550) would be the last place in the world anyone would expect to find an abandoned Titan I Intercontinental Ballistic Missile silo, so you can imagine the mind-blowing surprise these adventurers were in for!

“(We) Had to wear particulate mask because this silo was made back when asbestos was a great construction material.”

“The walkways were extremely sketchy, missing grates and the ones that were there were rusted out and falling apart.”

“There were these black figures with white eye painted around corners all over the place and was pretty freaky at first.”

“First actual tunnel to 1 of the 3 silos.”

“We found an escape hatch, it was about 40-50 ft. up.”

“Over top view of the main entrance from the back side where the tunnel came out.”
