Sure, we might be sweltering in the heat of summer right now, seeking the solace of an air-conditioned room. Maybe some of us are even secretly wishing for those upcoming winter days. After years of drought and then one of the craziest winters on record, are you ready for what just might be Northern California mild winter the Old Farmer’s Almanac is predicting?
Chances are good, according to the Farmer’s Almanac, that Northern California will see a very average winter in a few months from now.

Now that our reservoirs are full, that’s welcome news to many Northern California residents. From the Oroville Spillway disaster to the damage many of us sustained on our homes to just general inconveniences, it seemed like spring would never come.

Still, there were others of us who relished in the snow and rain. It had been too long since we saw snow in the mountains and green grass growing on the hillsides for most of our liking.

But with these new 2018 predictions, it seems like there will be just enough precipitation and plenty of dry days.

The Farmer’s Almanac states that while we should see some storm fronts pushing in from the Pacific and cold fronts coming down from Canada, there’s no El Niño or La Niña predicted for this year.
