A couple of artists quit their jobs in 2012 to build this beautiful house in the mountains of West Virginia.

The idea to build the house came to Nick Olson and Lilah Horwitz not long after their first date in November 2012, they told media outlets. They were walking through the West Virginia woods one evening and were inspired by the sunset sinking behind a hill.

They described a spur of the moment decision to quit their jobs, rent a U-Haul truck, and drive around looking for glass windows to build their dream house.

The house is built on Olson’s family land near the New River Gorge National Park. The closest town is Hinton.

The couple built the entire home by themselves. The front of the home, which is a wall made entirely of windows, is 16 feet high. It cost $500.
