As we get closer and closer to Halloween, we all love to think of the weird and spooky! There are many places in Nevada that are thought to be haunted. This restaurant is special not only for its haunted reputation, but that it happily embraces it!
Pioneer Saloon is a little piece of the Old West located in Goodsprings, Nevada. It’s about a half-hour drive from Las Vegas.

The saloon was built in 1913 and may be the oldest active manufactured stamped tin structure in the state (and possibly even the U.S.)

Step inside and feel like you’re back in old western mining times. It’s no wonder the saloon has been the site of many film and TV shoots.

Ghost stories about the saloon abound, as well as tales of hauntings in other parts of this small town.

The most well-known story is about Clark Gable and Carole Lombard. Clark reportedly sat in the bar for three days, waiting to hear news of his wife Carole. Her plane was missing and eventually was found crashed near Mount Potosi. To this day staff and visitors claim that Carole’s ghost haunts the ladies room area of the saloon.

Bullet holes can be found in the side of the building. The ghost of this gun fight is said to haunt the restaurant.

Two other ghosts that are thought to be haunting the property. One is an old miner. The other is a lady named Ruby, who may be one of the ladies of the evening who frequented a nearby hotel that has since burned down.

Actual newspaper clippings hang from the walls. They tell stories from past eras, including gun fights and mining troubles.

The saloon owners and staff relish the haunting stories, and even host regular “haunted lockdowns” where you can be locked in the saloon from midnight to 4 am (with plenty of delicious food and drink of course!)

If hauntings are too much for you, during the day the saloon serves up traditional “cowboy” food such as BBQ, burgers, and Tex Mex fare.
