The Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed Association was one of New Jersey’s first environmental groups. It is centered around a 950-acre nature reserve with hiking trails, an environmental center, arboretum and butterfly house.

The Kate Gorrie Butterfly House opened in 2000 and showcases Central Jersey’s butterfly species. Its gardens replicate their natural habitat.
