So, I’ve got good news and I’ve got bad news. Which do you want to hear first? Since you can’t answer directly, I’ll start with the story behind this article. The Farmer’s Almanac (a must-read since 1792) recently released their winter weather predictions. They claim to be eighty percent accurate, which means we may have some wild weather in store.

What to expect depends on where in the Garden State you live.

The Farmer’s Almanac divides the country in 18 distinct climate zones.

Most of New Jersey is located in the Atlantic Corridor Region, along with New York City, Maryland and other areas along the northern coast.

Though Sussex and Warren Counties are located in the Northeast Region, along with parts of New York State, Maine, Western Massachusetts and Vermont.

If you’re located in the Atlantic Corridor Region, you can expect November and February to be colder than average, but December and January to be a bit warmer.

As for precipitation, it’s predicted that we’ll have up to 5" more snow than average for November, December and January.

Located in the sliver of our state that’s in the Northeast Region? November will be the wildest month, with colder temperatures and quite a bit more snow than average.

On the bright side, December will be about average all around and January will bring an average amount of snowfall with slightly warmer temperatures.
