Washington is no stranger to bizarre happenings. Here’s something you’ll most likely remember – not even six months ago, the Seattle Volunteer Park Conservatory was home to a corpse flower named Dougsley. Dougsley’s bloom was highly anticipated, due to it smelling literally like death, but would end up decomposing mid-bloom leaving many disappointed. The flower rapidly decomposed and never ended up producing any smells of epic proportions. With that said, the conservatory is now happy to announce that they have an extraordinary plant blooming through mid-March that will help ease the pain of last year’s letdown.
In bloom now through mid-March, the Seattle Volunteer Park Conservatory is showcasing a breathtaking flower that you won’t find just anywhere.

Native to the Philippines, the Strongylodon macrobotrys or jade vine required a considerable amount of work from the Conservatory in order to bloom.

The Conservatory is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10AM to 4PM, so visitors can come and view the vibrant plant for themselves.
