If you were living in New York during this time last year, you might remember what it was like to get the upsetting news from the Farmers’ Almanac that their winter predictions for New York looked troublesome. But what if I were to tell you that it looks like our residents won’t have to worry too much about the upcoming cold weather that’s headed our way?
Releasing their predictions every year, The Old Farmer’s Almanac has come out with their weather forecast for the 2017-2018 season.

According to the 200-year old formula, areas from the Great Lakes out to the Northeast are predicted to be cold and snowier than normal.

But don’t let that get you discouraged! Most individual areas of New York have weather predictions that you can deal with.

Part of the Appalachians Regions in New York - Auburn, Binghamton, Elmira, Ithaca and Syracuse are predicted to have a warmer than normal winter coming.

The coldest periods for these cities will be late December, early and mid January and early and mid February. And the snowiest periods? mid to late November, early and mid to late January and mid March.
Those who are living out in Buffalo, Cheektowaga, Niagara Falls, Rochester and Tonawanda AKA the Lower Lakes Region can expect to also experience a warmer winter.
